Animals' lives are not standardized: providing appropriate pet food for the various life-styles and conditions demands a broad scientific base. saturn not only follows the recommendations of the NRC (National research Council), AAFCO (Association of American Food Control Officers) and FEDIAF (Fédération Européene des Industries des Aliments pour Animau Familiers) but undertakes own research.

Working in close cooperation with veterinary schools and scientific institutes enables the study of nutritional and physiological parameters. Specialist knowledge is transferred, and this, combined with our own research and development, forms the basis for our concepts - a wide range of products for healthy pet nutrition.

Comprehensive acceptance trials, both as spot checkes and long-term studies, ensure product certainty. All products are tested by our own panels and well-known eyternal institutes under natural conditions - the trials are neutral, independent and objective. The animal´s eating behaviour is monitored and acceptance and preferences observed. Results are also analysed in regard to digestibility and animal behaviour.

Our state of the art Production Development Centre enables us to undertake our own tests. New and optimizing recipes are checked for practicability. New technologies are adjusted to suit existing equipment. These test results provide the basis for process implementation in production. They are the foundation for product innovation and provide a great degree of certainty when making decisions about future investments.
